Heart of Gold nr. 7 – Neil Young
I’ve been in my mind
It’s such a fine line
That keeps me searching
For a heart of gold
And I’m getting old
Neil Young is een van mijn muzikale helden. In mijn jeugd vertolkte hij mijn gevoel en inspireerde me in mijn muzikale ontwikkeling. Van het album ‘Harvest’ (1972) komt de track ‘Heart of Gold’. Het kon dus bijna niet anders dan dat ik in deze serie ook een portret van Neil Young zou maken.
Het beeld is afgeleid van een foto van Gary Cooper, maar bewerkt naar een dot work tekening waarbij ik de kleurschakering heb beperkt to blauw, rood en geel (met kleine variaties).
Neil Young is one of my musical heroes. In my youth he interpreted my feelings and inspired me in my musical development. From the album ‘Harvest’ (1972) comes the track ‘Heart of Gold’. So it was almost inevitable that I would also make a portrait of Neil Young in this series. The image is derived from a photo by Gary Cooper, but edited into a dot work drawing where I have limited the color shade to blue, red and yellow (with minor variations).
